I'm not one of those fans of the movies that is obsessed, but I am a fan, and I've enjoyed all the movies in this franchise. I, like others probably, was curious to see how they would finish this movie with the tragic death of Paul Walker. (RIP) I figured since he had filmed so much of it already that they would do some type of CGI work on his face for scenes he hadn't finished. But let me tell you, in my opinion the work they did do, was awesome. Nothing at all like the "botched" CGI work on the baby in the Breaking Dawn movies. That was so crazy and just silly, the baby looked like a cartoon character. I'm sure there are fans out there, who knew exactly when it wasn't Paul Walker. But me, I cheated, I looked at a few articles online, and seen what the CGI face looked like, so after that, I knew exactly what scenes he wasn't in. I'm not gonna mention those scenes here, because if you haven't seen it yet, I want to know if you can tell at all that his face was CGI. Like I said, I'm sure there will be fans that can tell. But if I hadn't looked at the pictures I found, I wouldn't have been able to tell. That is how awesome of a job they did.
Was it a tribute to him? In some ways, I definitely seen a type of tribute during the movie. It was very obvious at the end, that, the end scene was a tribute. It ended with the crew looking on, as Brian played on the beach, with Mia (pregnant again), and their son Jack. It showed each crew member giving a kinda nod of approval, it was like they each were saying goodbye to the character of Brian. Dom (Vin Diesel) snuck out and didn't say goodbye, but as he drove away and white car pulled up beside him and it was Brian teasing him about not saying goodbye. They drove off side by side, then each went different directions. I think it was a great send off to the character and to Paul Walker. I think the color of the car, being white, was kind of heavenly in a way. There was also a small montage of Paul Walker as Brian, with Vin Diesel saying a few words about his "brother". It was a sad, but very good ending for the character, and movie. This ending leads me to believe that there probably won't be another movie. There wasn't an "extra" at the end, like the other movies. So with this ending, I just don't see it. But you never know, they were talking about there being 8 movies total. Also with the movie ending the way it did, should there be another one? When is enough, enough? I think it would be ok for the movies to end with this one. It was a good ending, so I'd be happy with it. Could they make another one, just as successful? Yea I think so, if they stick with the characters. All of the ones with the original characters have been pretty good, and very successful. Of course the character of Brian/Paul Walker would be gone, but I think the actor would want it to continue, if they could do it. But yet with the ending being so great on Furious 7, I'd be happy with it stopping now. I think other fans would be as well. It reminds me of the show Son's of Anarchy, and how the series ended. No one really wanted Jax to die, but he did, and it was a great ending for the show. That was a show you can watch over and over and never get tired of it. This franchise of movies is like that, they're great, when you see them on TV you stop and watch them. I'm sure not everyone has seen the movies. But for me, they bring back memories, especially the first. I loved seeing the first one in the theater with my friends. =) The first is still my favorite out of all the movies.
A couple of other things that happened during this movie was the Rock (Dwayne Johnson) didn't really have much of a role as he has in the last two. That role was filled with Kurt Russel taking over as support for Dom. But at the end, the Rock (Hobs) did show up and help. They had a funeral for Han or Hon, which we expected. Something I didn't expect was finding out that Dom and Letty had gotten married! And you don't find that out till Letty gets her memories back! Which you see throughout the movie, her having flashbacks, or remembering stuff. But you don't find out that she remembers everything till Dom almost dies. I thought for a second he was going to. Just like Shaw's brother played by Jason Statham. You would think falling into some rocks and having large amounts of rocks thrown on you, that it would kill you. But it didn't, he ended up in maximum security prison. Like, his cell was at the end of a hallway that had guns on both sides of the walls that's the kind of maximum security I'm talking about. But other than all that I've mentioned, that was basically the movie. There was tons of action, that I'm not gonna get into details about, there was sad moments, happy moments, and funny moments. But overall I loved the movie, of course I'd like to see more, but I think Furious 7 is a perfect ending to all the previous movies, and a great tribute to Paul Walker.
